My mother’s with all her bravery shares her journey in search for her mother who was kidnapped and disappeared during the 12 year civil war in El Salvador. Our families story is about resistente, and never forgetting, but we are also learning to heal.

Mi beautiful, tough, badass, self made, determined great grandmother Mama Mila with her first three daughters out of 14 children. She had mostly daughters and only two boys. The matriarchs of this family were and still are cosa sería. She is very present in my new research, she speaks the loudest in my body lately.
